Looking to regularly commission someone who can retouch AI generated art. Primarily fixing hands, feet, and eyes. Possibly also faces and background elements.

If you have this skillset and are interested, please send me a note on Deviantart or an email at MagnusMagneto23 (at) Gmail.com with your rates regarding this, and if possible any examples you've done.

(Note: I am still commissioning human artists for illustrations as well whenever the budget of a project allows, but for now AI is extremely cost effective)

Hello everyone,

The Life Sim Scene Update has finally been finished and released to Early Access patrons ( gum.co/LifeSimScene ).  It's also available on Gumroad.  If you processed a $10+ pledge in October 2019 and didn't receive a link, send me a note.  If you've helped beta test multiple times, and want to test the Scene Update, and didn't receive a note, let me know.

Here are the release notes for the Scene Update:

The game's scenarios have been expanded with story scenes that will trigger once certain conditions are unlocked.

Full list of scenes to be found:

Default and Schmo scenarios: Muscle scenes at girlfriend muscle levels 3, 6, 9, 12, 16, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50
   - These muscles scenes are roughly 25-75% different for each scenario.

Default Scenario:  7 height scenes that trigger at various height differentials, (player 3 levels taller, same height, girlfriend 3 levels taller, 7, 11, 15, 25)

Transfer Scenario: 6 transfer story scenes that trigger based off of days since the last scene played.  Additionally there are more special transfer scenes to discover (equal muscle, daily transfer, and scenario completion)

Transfer Scenario Overhaul:

Instead of receiving a Nightmare Collar, a series of  exclusive scenes will play over the course of the game during which the GF steals various attributes from the player.  After all of the scenes are played, she will steal an attribute of the player's choice each day until he has nothing left to offer.

Transfer Scenario also has a special scene that triggers when the player and girlfriend have equal muscle level.  And a 'completion' scene for the scenario when all of the player's stats are level 1 (job experience levels 0 as well).  (This is not an ending to the overall game, just the scenario)

Additional New Content:
10 new comparison images from Oriander, along with more text descriptions.

Other Changes:

- Girlfriend stage numbers for the comparison activity have been shifted to accomodate the new images - she now has 10 stages.
- Atrophy is now off for both characters by default, but can be turned on in advanced options.
- Added height and job experience to character stats.
- Fixed a bug where player would atrophy even if it was set to off.
- Player now gets bonuses to intelligence and reaction speed when playing Schmo mode.

---

Currently the Patreon poll for the next update's priorities is heavily favoring Girlfriend Dialogue and More Story Scenes.  Unless there's a drastic swing, the next update will focus on those things.

More FMG content of all types coming soon.

Thank you all for your continued support, attention, and interest.

- Magnus

Hello,

I've just finished the first beta of the stamina update, and sent it to the $10 backers from that pledge.

If you successfully processed a pledge for the -stamina update- (end of July), and didn't receive it, please send me a message.

I'll be sending it out to consistent beta testers later tonight - if you've helped out on prior beta tests and haven't received it by tomorrow, let me know.

If you missed out on pledging for the Stamina Update and would like Early Access, it will be available on Gumroad later this weekend/early next week.

The Stamina Update ended up being perhaps the largest update yet.  Only a few others stick out in my mind of being comparable (such as the 2018 overhaul).  Most gameplay aspects of the game were altered in some way.  My objective was to make the game faster and less grindy.  Hopefully I succeeded...!

Frankly, I ended up changing so much that I can't really remember every change.  Here's a breakdown of the biggest things:

- Stamina stat introduced.  It's used for performing physical exp-gaining activities.  The current stamina formula is: maxstam = 2 + (endurance * 1.5) rounded.

- Stamina is recovered by sleeping, using the 'do nothing' activity, drinking StamAids, and using the Restoration Chamber.

- Experience revamped.  Activities now have a 'challenge rating' for each attribute they challenge.  As long as a character's attribute is below this 'challenge rating', they will receive full EXP towards that attribute.  The base rate is 10 EXP.  Each attribute level over the challenge rating will give diminishing returns on experience (-10% diminishing returns per level, until no more experience is gained when the attribute is more than 10 over the challenge rating)

- Base experience is 10 EXP per activity, though the girlfriend starts off with a 'gifted' perk that boosts exp gain on all activities.  Supplements boost strength + endurance exp, and girlfriend 'evolutions' now boost all activity exp.

- Intelligence revamped slightly.  Uses the new EXP system, meaning you can now actually gain more than just a couple levels of intelligence from each activity.

- Time system revamped, now uses minutes.

- Activities have different time amounts now

- Characters no longer have to go to bed by midnight.  They do still need to sleep (or use a restoration chamber) to level up.

- New item StamAid recovers some stamina.  Can be purchased from the StamAid vending machine at the shopping center.

- New apartment upgrade at Ulric's, the treadmill.  Has an Endurance Challenge Rating of 20, and a strength rating of 1.

- New equipment, the Brain Teaser.  Very powerful item that will passively give the wearer Intelligence EXP during activities.  Purchasable at Alison's and currently wearable by GF.

- New activity, Walking.  Has an endurance CR of 3, but a very low stamina cost.  Useful for training endurance early game.  Has a slightly higher rate of finding items than running (reasoning being you're going slower so it would be easier to spot items)

- New Creation, Restoration Chamber.  Revitalizes all stamina for a character and levels up attributes if the exp requirement is met.

- Do Stuff Together menu revamped

- Workout analyzer revamped

- Characters can go to sleep independently in the split up menu.  Rest for 4 hours option removed.

- Wrist/Ankle weights now add 5 strength/endurance challenge rating to exercise activities respectively.

- Most things are cheaper, especially the creations.

- MegaBatteries now increase by $50 per purchased instead of $200

- New Advanced Fiction and Advanced Nonfiction books to further train intelligence

- Brain Blaster revamped.  Can now be purchased from Ulric OR created (created costs less but requires INT).  No longer uses batteries.  Now trains intelligence regularly with new exp system, challenge rating of 30.

- Atrophy occurs a little slower since characters will be probably be sleeping more often.

Current challenge ratings as of Beta 1:

Calisthenics - STR 5, END 5, FLX 3

Home Weights - END 5,

homegymlevel 1 = 10

homegymlevel 2 = 20

homegymlevel 3 = 30

homegymlevel 4 = 50

Gym Weights STR 30 END 5

Running END 15

Treadmill END 20, STR 1

Walking END 3

Yoga END 5, STR 5, FLX 10>

Fiction INT 7

Advanced fiction INT 17

Nonfiction INT 10

Advanced nonfiction INT 20

Brain blaster INT 30

Office INT 10

Construction STR 10, END 10

Creation (one time EXP for building something) INT 40

----

The next update will be the Story Scene update.  I'm already underway on creating the scenes.  My plan is to monitor the beta for Stamina, and to upload a bunch of the story scenes directly onto Patreon tomorrow night.  If I'm comfortable with the amount of content created, I'll go ahead and run a pledge tomorrow night for the update after.

As always, comments and feedback are appreciated.  Let me know how you guys are enjoying these changes, and how enjoyable the game is compared to prior installments.

Thanks for your continued support and patience,

- Magnus

Hello everyone, here's the latest,

I spent the first few weeks of the month on Tara vs Thora.  Frankly, the project - which was already a stripped down version of an earlier one - was too ambitious.  The most reasonable way forward is to create a more linear, narrative focused game with fewer mechanics and permutations.  I created the (hopefully) final outline of the game, and have been plugging away at it.

Earlier I talked about a game where you directed Tara through something like a 'fast life sim'.  This is no longer the case.  Instead I'm now focused on fewer, longer, better written passages instead of cramming 100s of random variables into it.  There's still a -lot- of variety and you'll need to play through the game at least twice to see the majority of the content, and probably 4+ times to see everything.

I don't really know what to say.  This project has ended up being somewhat disastrous for me on a personal level, and is no doubt infuriating for those who have waited, (those who even remember at this point that is).  That said, I'm still convinced that when it's finished it'll end up being one of the best things I've ever made.

I ended up pivoting a bit and focusing on finishing up the Stamina Update for Life Sim before the end of the month.  I'm closing in - I have all the main programming finished and am mostly just adding descriptions for the new activities, and scratching my head at nonsensical code I made 3 years ago as I update old stuff to function with the new systems.

Frankly, at some point I will have to remake Life Sim's engine entirely for the sake of cohesion - a lot of time is lost just trying to figure out what I was thinking back then.

I made a lengthy update explaining everything on my Patreon there: www.patreon.com/posts/31170661

I've also updated the reward tiers, and am planning on generating a pledge Oct 31.

-

Other stuff,

Time keeps slipping by.

I haven't forgotten all the things I intend to do.  Kryptonian Heritage.  Holiday Cheer Epilogue.  All the Patreon series that haven't been concluded...

I can't offer any compelling excuses.  I just hope I can figure out how to generate all the content I want to at a reasonable pace.

Thanks for remaining interested after all this time,

- Magnus
